Wind shift - determine time to tack

Hi

For me it worked best to determine the time to tack with this methode:
http://www.sailracer.net/docs/news/vmg-is-misconception/#more-524

To make the wind shift visible with expedition I have GWD 3 time with different dampings (5s, 300s 600s) in my number field.

Now I'd like to have this information on my instruments (Nexus with Garmin GND10). With Nexus I have the possibility to send custom information, but I can't send the same variable with different dampings. To solve this problem it would help if I could define the different damping for each information sent to the instrument or even better, to define new variables with formulas eg. in excel.Any better ideas? regards Olsen370

That link doesn't make much sense to me.

Re: Wind shift - determine time to tack

Nick, what’s the best way to detect wind shift with expedition instead? Is this question answered in a webinar?

Re: Wind shift - determine time to tack

Use a tablet with Ventus or a remote desktop app (I like Micrsooft remote desktop app most).
